well, they've been blooming since last week ne.
it says so here, and that was since march 27: http://www.flickr.com/photos/doo3/3391671752/
and i read here that tokyo's cherry blossoms were finally in full bloom over this past weekend. ~_~ so, i feel like i'm just in time to update the banner here. haha. well, i wanted 2 change it since reading toma-chan's post about seeing his first cherry blossoms of the year ne. but now's fine too!
I LOVE CHERRY BLOSSOMS, SO I SPENT *EVEN MORE* TIME THAN USUAL TO LOOK FOR NICE SAKURA PICS TO USE FOR THE NEW BANNERS!!!!!! i wanted to use a pic from tokyo BADLY, but as usual, i failed to find a pretty pic i could use from tokyo, had to settle for one from another part of japan. in this case, Nara. but it's a really pretty pic, right? it's pink cherry blossoms too. you'd be surprised...most of the pics i found were of WHITE blossoms and not pink ones. so frustrating!! though the white ones can be beautiful too, i wanted to find pink ones similar to the scene in H&C where takemoto saw hagumi for the first time~ that sweet moment!!! i think this pic...the kinda cherry blossoms hanging downwards and the color, the lighting, really reminds me of that special moment when he fell in love, deshou??? ^_^
cuz spring is a time for LOVE, absolutely!! if spring is LOVE and toma is LOVE, then spring is toma's season!! haha.

this is especially true for toma! so many firsts for him this season...he's really making a lot of breakthroughs continuously, lately!! i'm really really excited for him. ~_~

turns out the song i mentioned the other day that toma was thinking about, sakura no hana maiagaru michi (The flower of the cherry tree, the road which soars), by elephant kashimashi, was like-- one of toma's fav songs last year!! he was listening to it even in autumn, and it was a song that made him cry!! i wish i knew what the lyrics mean!!

it's got an explanation of how the japanese character for "sakura" (cherry blossoms) is supposed to look like a woman wearing a hair ornament, standing next to a tree. isn't that cool?? =) go to the link in the explanation for more info about where to go hanami in japan.
not all of us are lucky enough to be able to go hanami in tokyo, but all of us can look at cherry blossom pics and imagine going hanami!! haha. here's a ton of beautiful sakura pics, mostly from japan. (sorry, i shoulda favorited them and let u see the slideshow/thumbnails page, that would have been better. I'LL REMEMBER NEXT TIME!!)
