mmm....toma's such a big star now, but it would still mean so much...if he could finally debut. i think...i hope that day is coming closer??? seeing him sing at the johnnys countdown (or anytime he sings, really)....it really made me wish he could debut!!! it's been 14 years!! isn't that enough?? well...here's to hoping that today next year...or the next year...toma might not be known as a junior anymore?? *fingers crossed*

just found out today f/reading jamie-san's blog that it has been snowing, STILL!! (http://hinoai.livejournal.com/749908.html) remember how it started snowing in tokyo on feb.1 or something and cuz it was slippery, jun got in a minor car accident (and lots of ppl slipped and fell on the slippery streets)? seems like it's been snowing on and off since then! (it's rare for tokyo to have more than a few days of light snow.)

and it is snowing RIGHT now (light snow), as i am typing!! (maybe not by the time i post this up though. edit: NO, IT'S STILL SNOWING!! WOW.) and of course, it's VERY COLD there right now. well, if u live on the east coast of the usa, it's nothing compared to the tons of snow u've been getting, but it's a big deal in tokyo when they get this much snow...

i like snow, but it's a little disrupting...hope it doesn't affect the ningen premiere or keep ppl from going to watch toma's movie cuz it's too cold/slippery out....but LUCKILY, AMAZINGLY, seems like it'll be nice and sunny right in time for the premiere (feb.19) and opening day (feb.20)!!! (toma, i recently cut my hair!! it's short, too!! really~! xD got it cut be4 my bday ne.) ah, that part about her saying she has a feeling he hasn't been in love in a long time, and he laughs...!! i'm not now, but was so HYPERRR earlier!! :D went to mitsuwa for a late bday celebration, kinda. lol. ate there & bought some snacks and got DUET and also my act+ magazine came last night, on my bday!!! sugeh!! it's BIG and SHINY!! as big as toma's photobook that came w/the johnny's 08-09 calendar, but not as wide!!! kyaa!! so pretty!! DID NOT expect it to be this big. i'm really glad i got it. and they only had an OLD issue of cinema * cinema, but i wasn't thinking of buying it really, anyway....so...i'll post up some pics sometime soon...

for me i think i would like to keep it safely at home as a very luxurious album of memories.

amazing, he got so many emails f/ppl who saw it, even more emails than on his bday (laughs)

he's grateful to everyone that emailed him (friends, sempai actors, kouhai, high school friends).

a sempai he thinks is a perfect actor told him "i am also constantly uneasy".
a lot of scary things...but he wants to keep this feeling.

actors will never be completely satisfied.
almost like when u study a lot for a test, but you're still nervous on that day.
but acting is subjective.

it means always trying to improve youself.

during ningen filming, he kept asking if the director if the scene he did was no good.

he's very moved that someone like that still has fears like this.

he feels uneasy when he thinks something was perfect. in acting, not everything is completed. but it's not like he has no confidence.

if people are afraid, they will find ambition to surpass it, he thinks.
"walking down a path with no end. surely, i am (doing that).

ja...remember when they had the press conference in june of last year??? wow...and now, already the first time that regular ppl can go watch the movie...on jan.27. (i remember thinking, who are these old ladies supposed to be?? where are toma's love interests in the movie?! haha. and turns out, THEY ARE who he's supposed to like. aiya...!! but actually, they are pretty and look nice/kind, at least...except that 1 older lady that looks quite EVIL, but i'm not sure if toma will have any relationship w/her...)


toma didn't say much about this 1st preview screening, but he talked about the other preview screenings at Toma's Room more, kinda...i'll post up a summary of his messages soon! i guess maybe now, he's still going to different cities to promote the movie at the preview screenings and different tv shows...

toma seemed kinda nervous, of course, but then there were moments where he was smiling, laughing...he really seemed so proud of himself and the movie ne. ~_~ i'm so happy for him when i watched the clips...



my fav part was seeing toma walk out to the red carpet...*FANS SCREAM AND CHEER LOUDLY*. ^_^ THE FANS THAT GOT TO TOUCH HIS HAND!!♥♥ he also leaned over to shake some more girls' hands...ahh!! wish i was there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

read at caroline's LJ...the lady that toma had a "difficult" scene with (kissing scene?) is 68? EHHH?! 0_o and there was a 50-something lady that talked about some kinda romantic scene w/toma, i guess...made him laugh. haha! ah...those lucky lucky women!!! *_*

oh, and seems like The Fallen Angel is the official movie title in eng.?? i thought it was just the tagline, but.... i'd rather the official eng. name be No Longer Human. but i guess both names sounds cool. xD


Ikuta Toma attends preview for his new film "NIngen Shikkaku"

The actor Ikuta Toma attended the preview of his first starring movie "Ningen Shikkaku/人間失格 (lit.No Longer Human)" at Tokyo International Forum.

This is the first time for the controversial book of Dazai Osamu to be adapted into a movie. Ikuta plays the main character who can not get used to the human world and indulges in alcohol and women. "I am very confident with this work. I appreciate a lot your coming to watch this movie." Ikuta sounded faithful of his own.

However, during the preview event, Ikuta was quite nervous. And he wrote down his comment after the event. "The preview event was succeeded. Thank you all. I am very happy to have a lot of people coming to watch the movie. Thank you indeed. I will try my best to promote the movie and send message to as many people as possible. Please do it with me!"

a little more info about the movie and dazai. wow, i didn't know they made 3 of his other novels into movies recently! @_@ omg, for a second, i thought u could watch the movie in toronto!! lol!! (not that i live there, but i was excited 4 toronto fans. haha.) i remember the director saying they might release it overseas too...wonder if it might still happen???? PLEASE PLEASE, RELEASE IT IN THE USA!!! ^_^ ONEGAISHIMASU!! (but then with subtitles too...or...but then i still might go watch even without subs, cuz if i get to see toma on the big screen of a movie theatre...!! GAH!! that would be TOO awesome...)

watching toma's super short documentary-like show...
it was interesting and cool to see them following him around like this!! and they talked about his career since his childhood too...aw...those clips and pics of little toma!! ^_^

ah...but this show was a little disappointing and WAY TOO SHORT. they could have done more!! i dunno...i wish they had shown a little more of him off the movie sets....like at photoshoots or how he spends his free time...but then i guess he didn't have much free time then, and they don't want to bother him too much, anyhow. oh, right...and this show is supposed to be about the featured person's job, after all!

i wish they had kept following him till the end of year, so we could see him rehearsing dancing with yamashita for his concert, or him rehearsing for the Johnny's Countdown show!! but i'm thinking they stopped following him around mid-november...which i think was around the time toma said he went to the first ningen movie screening....yamashita's concert was at the END of november...so close!!

but then there are some priceless moments...! ~_~ seeing him get in serious youzou mode, seeing how quiet/lowkey he is on the set...some light, happy moments (too few!!). loved when he was doing push-ups on the chairs and gave up, laughing!! xD and wow....he's very focused....all those screaming girls so close to him, but he was totally professional and didn't react to them at all. sugoi!! *__*


yaparri~ he works hard. and it seems lonely...if only he had like...an assistant or someone who could stick around...it would be nice to have someone to talk to...

i loved that moment, that scene for ningen at the beach. that lady was doing some kinda string trick, but he was all frowning and ignored her...i know it's supposed to be a serious moment, cuz he's thinking of suicide or something...but it just seemed funny to me, like toma's going "leave me alone, i don't like you!!" xD

finally, we see him filming for Seaside!! just a little bit, but still nice to see. haha, loved it when he was all serious, but then stuck his tongue out at the camera. :P

when he was with shun at ANN...shun shoulda told toma that his hair was sticking up funny, cuz of the headphone he had on!


......that crying scene in hanamizuki!! =,( so hard to see him crying like that...


wow....the 1st ningen screening!
1st time seeing the finished product!!!! his 1st movie ever...
so emotional, he cried...but so nice to see his smile at the end.




BUT WHAT HAPPENED...I THOUGHT THEY WERE GONNA SHOW SOME CLIPS OF HIM AT PHOTOSHOOTS OR WORKING ON MAJOSAI TOO?? SOME PARTS FROM THE PREVIEW WEREN'T IN HERE AT ALL!! EXCEPT IF HISATOPII DIDN'T UPLOAD THE WHOLE THING???? EHHH...i guess they cut those parts out in the end. geez...

and the background music did sound strangely sca~ry in some parts...as if something bad is gonna happen to toma next. lol. and i wonder what toma was saying was scary...it was his answer for several of their questions, "kowai". i'm guessing, just that...he's got a lot of pressure on him to perform well in each of his roles...it's a big burden...it's scary...

iya~ but i really liked watching this show.

i'm sure i'll enjoy it more when i can watch the subbed version, and actually understand what he said, though!!


this show reminds me how hard toma works, and how he is a really serious actor...toma is a seriously talented and cool guy...hounto ni!! ♥




p.s.
oh, and i thought, being a lead actor in a movie that's such a big deal...he'd get a big, nice hotel room!! but it seemed quite small and plain ne. he had to stay in that room for around 2 months!! ehhh...a little depressing to think of...
