so it's almost october already!! it's supposed to be fall already, but the weather is still warm/hot these days. thank goodness for the cool nights. in tokyo, seems like it's already cold and rainy these days. i'm so envious!

at least the moon is back these days. yey!! and i love october cuz it's toma's bday month, the 1st month of autumn (weather is cooling down slowly), and it's spooky halloween time (& candy and costumes time)!!

well, as i said in my cbox, i sent toma's bday card on sept. 12! ~__~ it probably already arrived in japan on sept. 19. i took pics of the card and the messages from toma fans before i sent it. i'll upload them and share the link with everyone in the toma birthday post later. toma posted a picture of the celebratory envelope (sorry, dunno the official name for these kinda special envelopes!) for the crank-in (the start of filming) of his new drama. [vol. 502, sept.1] toma came up with a nickname for his drama's long title: Osawari! xD he talked about being really happy to film for the new drama and how it doesn't feel rushed. but the weather has been hot during filming. he reminds everyone to take care in the heat. [vol.503, sept.7] he reminds people to go rent Bokura Ga Ita on DVD and Blu-Ray. ~__~ [vol.504, sept.14] he really loves the themesong for Osawari! so much that he cried! he likes the way the drama is filmed and thinks the drama is amazing.

A Big Change for Ikuta Toma in “Nou Otoko”

Last Sept 13th, Ikuta Toma attended the press conference for the shooting completion of his upcoming movie, “Nou Otoko“. Director Tomiyuki Takimoto attended the conference and announced that the movie will hit the cinemas on Feb 9th next year.

Based from a novel of the same title, “Nou Otoko” follows the story of a human killing machine void of any human emotions. The said novel won the 46th Edogawa Rampo prize for Mystery Novels back in 2000.

Ikuta Toma, who plays the titular role of a dark hero known to commit murder in the name of justice, said that playing the role of “brain man” has been a huge risk. “I put my soul into this character,” Ikuta said and even admitted that he became socially withdrawn a month before the shooting to get closer to his character. “I think that this role really change my perspective as an actor,” he added.

One of the movie’s highlight is Ikuta’s fight scene with the detective played by Yosuke Eguchi, it has been reported that the scene took 27 hours without sleep or rest. “I thought I was gonna die,” Ikuta said.

“Nou Otoko” will hit the cinemas next year, Feb 9th.

even though i only update this blog each month, but i still come here everyday, and often, it's the 1st site i go to when i go online! ~__~ i've met (talked to) so many nice and friendly toma fans here, and became friends with some of them, too. i also write about random things on my mind, in my cbox here. i guess it's the closest thing to twitter that i have, in case any of you are interested in what i'm thinking about/done recently. haha...

i want to continue posting toma news, pics, etc. and keep sharing toma info with everyone here!! even though it takes a lot of time to gather everything at the end of each month to make the post, and i rarely get comments or messages at my cbox... but i know there must be a lot of people that still come here for toma news, because i still often get 60-100 hits a day. it makes me really happy that many people still come here for toma updates and that this blog still shows up on the 1st or 2nd page of google or yahoo search!! *__*

hi everyone! 

is it hot where you live? i know it's still very hot and humid in tokyo, at least. summer's almost over, but i think we'll continue to have hot days until at least the end of september, here in southern california. it was really hot for most of august, but it started cooling down a little yesterday! yes!! sometimes i wish i could be nocturnal during summer, then i wouldn't have to deal with the daytime heat and could fully enjoy the nighttime cool air (and look at the moon all night!!).

TOMA'S GOT A NEW DRAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!! *_____*

i'm really excited and happy about this!!!!!! :D :D :D

so, what we know about the plot so far, is that toma's character lost his job and his girlfriend. he hears about a revitalization project going on in a small town that needs volunteers, so decides to go there and start his life over. he meets a woman (doctor) on the train, on his way there, and she is annoyed by him being too positive. probably later, she likes toma, but toma will like a different person. there are 4 other characters in this drama.

well, the story doesn't sound very exciting and i don't know any of the other actresses/actors, but WHO CARES, IT'S A NEW TOMA DRAMA AND HE'S THE LEAD CHARACTER!!!!!!! ahhahahahahaha.... i hope the toma fandom gets a lot more lively and fun during the time his drama airs! i really miss the super active fandom that we had around 2007 and 2008. =T i’m a little surprised/disappointed there hasn’t been much of a reaction in the fandom to the news of toma’s new drama, so far. =[ except for us hyper fans at the toma-room LJ and some people on tumblr....is it because many fans don't know about it yet??

(in my last post, the translation was not right, toma was not feeling lonely! xD) he's done filming for Nou Otoko. he's sorry he hasn't posted anything in a long time. he is looking forward to this movie, which will be really weird/confusing (?). (vol. 499, july 30)

He had a nice summer vacation after he finished working on his movie. he did a lot of summer activities and also non-summer things. maou is re-airing. just like in 2008, maou and the olympics aired during the summer. it's really hot these days... he wants to make a lot of good memories and not waste any time. (vol. 500, august 22)

He talked about the new drama, too. he hasn't been in a drama for years, so he is excited about being on a drama set and he'll work hard on it.

Right now, he is obsessed with the manga Touch after he randomly bought/found a volume. he's never felt this way about any other manga. he likes girls like minami asakura (a character in the manga).

He is happy to work on the new drama and everyone, wait for it, ok...(vol. 501, aug. 29)

1~ TOMA'S NEW AUTUMN DRAMA: Osozaki no Himawari ~Boku no Jisei, Renewal~. 

that's a long title! xD it means "The late-blooming sunflower ~ renewal of my life". this autumn drama will air tuesdays at 9pm in october. here's a bunch of news and information about it!! 

On August 29th, Fuji TV has announced that actor Ikuta Toma will star in their upcoming fall drama ‘Osozaki no Himawari ~Boku no Jinsei, Renewal~‘ (lit. ‘Late Blooming Sunflower ~My Life, Renewal~’). It will be his first starring role in a drama series in three and a half years.

The drama is set at the beautiful Shimanto River in the Kochi prefecture and revolves around a group of seven men and women and the unfolding of their lives.

Ikuta plays a man named ‘Joutarou’, who’s a typical example of the so-called ‘lost generation’ in Japan. The term ‘lost generation’ refers to people who face a scarcity of employment right after graduating from school and therefore are left without any real perspective. He was lucky to find a regular employment, but it didn’t last long and he was laid off due to downsizing. Around the same time he was also dumped by his girlfriend. Fed up with his life, he somehow ends up in a ‘revitalization group’ of the Shimanto River area in Kochi.

Fuji TV already produced similar dramas about different individuals living together at the countryside such as ‘Kita no Kuni kara‘ (1981~2002) set in Furano, Hokkaido and ‘Hakusen Nagashi‘ (1996) set in Matsumoto, Nagano, which were very popular at the time. It seems, they are now aiming to transfer the same concept into the current generation.

Ikuta commented, “There have already been many great dramas about unique groups of people living together in regional towns. I want this drama to prove that our generation can create something just as wonderful as those masterpieces and meet everyone’s expectations of a drama about a youthful crowd.”

Actress Maki Yoko will play the heroine in the drama. You can also look forward to the appearances by Kiritani Kenta, Kashii Yu, Emoto Tasuku, Kimura Fumino, and Kuninaka Ryoko, as well.

‘Osozaki no Himawari ~Boku no Jinsei, Renewal~’ will air every Tuesday at 9:00 pm, starting sometime in October.

my 5th YEAR anniversary of becoming a toma fan! (:

august 30/31 is my 5th year anniversary of becoming a toma fan!! ~___~ it's my TOMAnniversary...i'm really happy and i'll celebrate it today and tomorrow!! 

5 years...wow! i still remember being a newbie back then, not knowing anything about toma, asking other fans all kinds of questions, and trying to fit in. (if you look at my old posts on this blog, you'll see how it was like for me, being a new toma fan. i posted so much back then! haha.) 5 years later, i'm the one answering fan's questions and helping new fans. and in addition to this Toma Love blog (which somehow got so popular!), i'm the moderator at the Toma's Room LJ community too! and i'm also fangirling at my tumblr too! i never thought i would be so involved in this fandom, but i'm really happy to fangirl for toma along with so many friendly and awesome toma fans! all the time and effort is worth it! 

oh, i want to thank all the toma fans that have been nice to me or helped me or commented on my posts or wrote messages to me! thank you!!

toma is such a talented actor...so gorgeous and cool, but so adorable and funny, too. he is a truly amazing person...i love toma and i'll keep supporting him and his fandom! thank you, toma.♥ i wouldn't be who i am now if i wasn't your fan. you have already achieved so much in 5 years, but i know you will keep getting more popular and respected. and i know you will continue to make me smile and make me proud to be your fan. ~.~

so...here are some pictures i want to share with everyone! after 5 years, i have quite a collection of toma stuff. it's mostly magazines and photobooks. but the things below are the ones that i treasure the most.♥

1) my very expensive official hana kimi dvd sets, Part I and II. it sounds crazy, but one of the main reasons i bought it was to get this tie! lol. i love ties, and i thought if i had this tie, i could wear it and feel like i'm one of nakatsu's classmates! yey!! xD (well, it took a long time for me to convert these japanese region dvd's to region-all so that i could watch it though! T__T i really need to re-watch it sometimes to get my money's worth, but it's got no english subtitles! hahaha.)

2) cezie gave me this big toma photobook she made for my birthday in 2010!! *___* she was a toma fan that i talked to a lot back then, and one day, she said she wanted to give me something for my birthday. and she sent me this photobook (she lives in canada, and i'm in the usa). wahhhhh!! i was so shocked and happy. i was only expecting something like a card or something small. there were so many recent toma pics inside and also old childhood pics of him!! ^__^ it was just really super sweet of her to spend time and money on this gift for me, and i will always treasure it! also, i remember her saying that the girl that worked at the printing place was a toma fan too!! lol. but it's too bad that we gradually talked less and less because she got busy (she's a nurse) and i don't know when was the last time we talked...it's sad when people leave the fandom without saying goodbye! =( 

but she wasn't the only nice toma fan to send me something...in 2010, anjerin-chan (from malaysia, who i have also lost contact with. =T) went on a trip to japan and she sent me some hanamizuki flyers (that i requested) and a nice little lavender flowers bookmark from a flower farm (tomita, i think?) in hokkaido!! ~__~ i kept 1 and sent the extras to mizza, mashi (we still keep in touch! ~.~), and some other fans. ^_^ then in 2011, mashi sent me some birthday presents! aww...i feel really lucky that some toma fans that know me through my toma blog liked me enough to send me stuff! thank you, again, anjerin and mashi!! *hugsss* (I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS TO TRY TO GET PEOPLE TO SEND ME GIFTS! LOL. I'LL BE HAPPY ENOUGH IF YOU POST MESSAGES FOR ME ON MY CBOX OR COMMENT ON MY POSTs. ~_~)

3) my 2 favorite toma posters. there has only been 1 big toma poster included in a magazine (in recent years), and it's from the 1st time he was on the cover of Potato in 2009. i hope he can be on the cover of 1 of the main idol magazines sometime again, and it'll have a nice big poster of him inside! ~_~ the 2nd one is a pullout from wink up in the march 2009 issue. it was the 1st time i ever bought a japanese magazine! it's still my favorite toma mini poster because his hair, outfit, and his smile...everything is perfect! 

4) careline went on a trip to japan in 2010 and was able to see toma at a stage greeting for ningen shikkaku! she got some flyers for her friends and had 1 extra and asked if anyone wanted it. of course i quickly asked for it and she sent it to me (from germany)! *__* it's important to me because it's the flyer of toma's 1st movie. also, it's the kind that folds out, so there are 4 pages, actually! it's also the best quality toma movie flyer that i have. i have the hanamizuki one too, but it got bent during shipping. careline sent it to me in the same basic envelope that anjerin used for the hanamizuki flyers, but amazingly, it was not bent at all. whew!! ~___~ 

5) my cinema square magazine with toma on the cover... it's significance is that seeing the preview pics on mizza's LJ post is what got me and her talking more and eventually we became friends. and later on, while chatting, we came up with the idea for creating the Toma's Room LJ community!! of course, it's also because this is 1 of my favorite toma photoshoots. he's so cute and sexy in the pics!! ~.~ also, i remember it was particularly tough to special order this magazine from the sanseido japanese bookstore at mitsuwa. xD cuz the lady that worked there somehow couldn't find this issue online so that they could order it for me, but then i spotted it on the screen, off to the side! :D 

6) of course i had to include the toma an an issue!!!! ^_~ i think it might be the biggest toma magazine i have (except for the MORE fashion magazine). i was really surprised at the size, cuz i thought it was going to be the size of a wink up. it's so great to see such big sexy pics of toma!! xD in this picture, you can see that i put it on top of a blue bag. that is the bag that i hide it in, and i keep it on my bookshelf. hahaha. i used to look at it often back then, but i haven't looked at it much after that year. (see, i'm not a pervert! xD) but it's great to know that whenever i feel like seeing toma shirtless, i can just pull out this magazine. hahahahaha... 

so...i don't usually post clear pictures of myself, but i thought this time i'd make an exception, kind of. here are toma-related pictures of me (+ some explanation of each pic) 1 from each year, from 2007 to 2012! ^_^ 

(yes, i have a very round face + look young for my age! -__- i hope you aren't disappointed or think of me differently after seeing my pics. well, people who have come here a lot in the past already kinda know what i look like, from the pics of myself where you can see my face...the ones i used for my profile icon, though those were tiny pics. xD)

2007: i took this picture during the autumn. after it rained that day, the weather was so perfect! breezy and a little cold...the sky was so blue, with so many white clouds. i remember jogging for a while, listening to Ikemen Boogie. (also, it was 1 of the rare times that my bangs and haircut was perfect and exactly the way i wanted it! lol.)

2008: after i bought the hana kimi official DVD, of course i had to take pics of myself wearing the tie and crest. my 1st ever attempt at cosplaying! haha.

2009: me posing with 1 of my drawings. ~_~ (dunno why my lips look weirdly red, i never wear lipstick!) i spent sooooooo much time on 4 toma drawings that i sent to Wink Up and Potato, hoping they would print it in the birthday fan art section. but none of them were chosen. sighhhhh. oh well, it was nice to draw again after a long time. i used to draw/sketch a lot for fun...

2010: me looking tired cuz i woke up before dawn to work on my 3rd toma fic. lol. i first wrote a super long (interactive! xD) toma fanfic in december 2008. then i wrote the 2nd one, continuing the story, in december 2009. but the 3rd one was during march 2010. i love writing and it felt like i was really in the story with toma!♥ i still like writing toma fics, even if not much people read them. i want to write another one soon! i already have some good ideas! xD

2011: this picture is significant mainly because i'm wearing a nice pink spring dress that i really like, that i bought online from yesstyle. lol. no...cuz i'm holding an unofficial (badly subbed. xD) DVD of hanamizuki. it's my 2nd favorite toma movie, so far. i really loved the romantic moments and the lighthouse scenes. i really like lighthouses and i have a lot of lighthouse stuff! i have only been to 2 lighthouses but i wanna go see more in the future! and this movie made me a gakky fan! hehe. i still ship them and that's why in my last fic, they were a couple! ~_~

2012: i only took this pic recently, for this post! xD i'm holding a bokura ga ita booklet that jamie (jamieism.com) got for me. she lives in tokyo, but she is from the usa. (: she wants to be a manga artist. she was accepting commissions in december 2011, so i asked her to draw a picture (chibi version) of mizza and i. :D but because she was dealing with some personal problems, it took her a very long time to complete it, and by early 2012, i asked if she could send me a BGI flyer along with the drawing, if she sees them, and she said yes! in the end, she wasn't able to find a flyer, but she was able to get me this small booklet from a bookstore in japan. ~_~ it was really cool to get mail from someone in japan for the 1st time ever! *__*

hi~! how is everyone?

i hope it's not too hot where you are. luckily these days it's still warm days + cool/even cold nights for me. i heard from jamie's blog that it's very hot and humid in tokyo though...=T i have talked about this before, but if it's really hot where you live and you don't have an air conditioner (like me!) or have to spend some times outdoors, try wetting the sleeves of your shirt with some water, it'll help you keep cool! and while you're at home, you can get most of your shirt wet and it'll keep you cool for a long while!! ~__~ i discovered this 1 hot summer. hehe. (LOL. just looked for the toma bday card announcement post from july of last year and i also gave keeping cool tips! xD forgot this one, though: also, spray some water in your hair, cuz your head is where the most heat escapes yr body or something like that.)

oh, the london olympic games are going on now!! i am actually not that excited about it, but i'm rooting for japanese athletes!! hehe. (at least the ones that seem nice. lol. i really hate athletes that seem arrogant!) and american athletes too, of course. ~__~

i almost forgot that i should start collecting your names+messages for toma's bday card this year!!! o_O luckily i was able to find a nice colorful card recently (there seems to be less and less pretty cards. sighhh. T_T), and it's a unicef card too! it says buying that card helps unicef provide 4 packets of something (the name was kinda long. xD) to help prevent dehydration. BUT IT IS ACTUALLY A CARD FOR A FRIEND, but oh well....i will add to it, so it will read "our idol and friend of all seasons. we love you and think of you as our friend." or something like that...

SO, LET'S CONTINUE MY TRADITION OF SENDING TOMA A BIRTHDAY CARD EVERY YEAR! ~___~

(this is gonna be almost exactly the same message as last year's. lol):

i'm just sending it to the official Johnnys fanmail address. hopefully toma will get it. and hopefully he'll actually open it. lol. if anyone wants me to add their name to the card, please comment at the end of this post and i'll add u. usually there's not much people, so there should be enough room. 

it would be great if you want to write him a message too. on the bday card, i will write everyone's names, but for the messages, i'll write them on simple notebook paper i bought from kinokuniya (couldn't find any nice stationary that didn't look too flowery/girly. =T) and put them inside the card (similar to what i did last year).

go ahead and comment below with a short message (like 1 or 2 sentences) and your name (and what country you're from), and i'll write them in for everyone. remember, the DEADLINE to comment is probably mid-september!!! -___- (please remember that i'll be writing them by hand, so i won't be able to write it if you post it in certain languages, where it would be hard to copy the characters or something! xD)

my 1st time going to a BIG TIME RUSH concert!!! woo hoo!! ^____^

IT WAS REALLY FUN!!! I SANG ALONG AND JUMPED AROUND AND GOT HYPER AND EVERYTHING ALONG WITH THOUSANDS OF OTHER GIRLS THERE. =D i loved that it was an outdoors concert too. we were up high and it was a cool, starry night. *_* for me, outdoors concerts definitely beats indoors concerts!!


oh, also, i was able to buy the Genji movie DVD at the video shop at mitsuwa!! ~__~ there are no subs, but it's kind of an official DVD, at least, and it was only $15!! (the official japanese DVD version is like $50 and not playable on american dvd players!!) i've only watched a tiny bit of it...still waiting for english subs!

for some reason, toma didn't write any new entry for this whole month!! =/ i'm sure he has a good reason...maybe just too busy with filming his movie. but it's strange and not like him to not post for so long. hmm... maybe something's wrong with his phone? or he's written a lot of entries by hand and will post them all up later? i don't know...=T

EDIT: kavya told me that toma updated his jweb, apologizing for not posting anything lately. he says it's because he was filming and says he feels very alone/isolated right now (something like that). =T (thanks to himawariyusuke for the translation!)

wow...filming must be really intense, that he didn't have time to post anything!! O___o poor toma. i guess it's just that all he does these days is study his script and film, and he has no time for anything else or meeting his friends or family, so he must be tired and feeling lonely. -__-
