500TH POST!!!♥_♥ toma's bday card!!♥ old toma videos...old toma karaoke clips...a lot of older toma screencaps (LOL. mostly old stuff! xD)

so...i think i will finish this post by next week?? nothing much to talk about, Genji movie still not subbed, but i'll share some cute/funny screencaps from toma's bokura ga ita or genji promo time video clips that i finally watched (or were recently subbed)!! ~_~

-kate <3

i made it! it's late night of july 30 and i am gonna post this entry now. yey!! ~.~

-kate

hi~! how is everyone?

i hope it's not too hot where you are. luckily these days it's still warm days + cool/even cold nights for me. i heard from jamie's blog that it's very hot and humid in tokyo though...=T i have talked about this before, but if it's really hot where you live and you don't have an air conditioner (like me!) or have to spend some times outdoors, try wetting the sleeves of your shirt with some water, it'll help you keep cool! and while you're at home, you can get most of your shirt wet and it'll keep you cool for a long while!! ~__~ i discovered this 1 hot summer. hehe. (LOL. just looked for the toma bday card announcement post from july of last year and i also gave keeping cool tips! xD forgot this one, though: also, spray some water in your hair, cuz your head is where the most heat escapes yr body or something like that.)

oh, the london olympic games are going on now!! i am actually not that excited about it, but i'm rooting for japanese athletes!! hehe. (at least the ones that seem nice. lol. i really hate athletes that seem arrogant!) and american athletes too, of course. ~__~

(credit: tswift-gifs) this is kind of how i feel right now!! ~___~

.............................................

i almost forgot that i should start collecting your names+messages for toma's bday card this year!!! o_O luckily i was able to find a nice colorful card recently (there seems to be less and less pretty cards. sighhh. T_T), and it's a unicef card too! it says buying that card helps unicef provide 4 packets of something (the name was kinda long. xD) to help prevent dehydration. BUT IT IS ACTUALLY A CARD FOR A FRIEND, but oh well....i will add to it, so it will read "our idol and friend of all seasons. we love you and think of you as our friend." or something like that...

also, the pics of the pink cupcakes on the right side of this page look so yummy right?? i found it while writing my tomapi/gakky fic, and here is the recipe, in case anyone is interested. ~__~ credits + recipe for the yummy cupcakes: http://theregoesthecupcake.com/2012/02/11/chocolate-and-strawberry-cupcakes/)

SO, LET'S CONTINUE MY TRADITION OF SENDING TOMA A BIRTHDAY CARD EVERY YEAR! ~___~

(this is gonna be almost exactly the same message as last year's. lol):

i'm just sending it to the official Johnnys fanmail address. hopefully toma will get it. and hopefully he'll actually open it. lol. if anyone wants me to add their name to the card, please comment at the end of this post and i'll add u. usually there's not much people, so there should be enough room.

it would be great if you want to write him a message too. on the bday card, i will write everyone's names, but for the messages, i'll write them on simple notebook paper i bought from kinokuniya (couldn't find any nice stationary that didn't look too flowery/girly. =T) and put them inside the card (similar to what i did last year).

go ahead and comment below with a short message (like 1 or 2 sentences) and your name (and what country you're from), and i'll write them in for everyone. remember, the DEADLINE to comment is probably mid-september!!! -___- (please remember that i'll be writing them by hand, so i won't be able to write it if you post it in certain languages, where it would be hard to copy the characters or something! xD)

for example:

happy bday toma! i love your dramas!

-Sarah (from France)

i will send the card probably around mid-september to make sure it gets to japan by october 7, toma's 28th birthday. ~___~ AND if you want to send your own bday card or letter to toma, that's great!! (just remember they don't allow gifts. they WILL send it back to you. =T and for letters, nothing bulky!!) i posted a few different addresses to send toma fanmail (except you probably shouldn't use the Winkup one anymore, since he does not have a column for the magazine anymore.) here:

http://ikutatomalove.blogspot.com/2008/09/toma-really-does-have-fans-all-over.html

just real quick, this month i was able to do something really cool and awesome, and it's the best thing that i got to do, so far, this year!! yeyyyy!!! ~___~

http://kate-firefly.livejournal.com/38279.html

my 1st time going to a BIG TIME RUSH concert!!! woo hoo!! ^____^

IT WAS REALLY FUN!!! I SANG ALONG AND JUMPED AROUND AND GOT HYPER AND EVERYTHING ALONG WITH THOUSANDS OF OTHER GIRLS THERE. =D i loved that it was an outdoors concert too. we were up high and it was a cool, starry night. *_* for me, outdoors concerts definitely beats indoors concerts!!

oh, also, i was able to buy the Genji movie DVD at the video shop at mitsuwa!! ~__~ there are no subs, but it's kind of an official DVD, at least, and it was only $15!! (the official japanese DVD version is like $50 and not playable on american dvd players!!) i've only watched a tiny bit of it...still waiting for english subs!

......................... toma's messages ♥

for some reason, toma didn't write any new entry for this whole month!! =/ i'm sure he has a good reason...maybe just too busy with filming his movie. but it's strange and not like him to not post for so long. hmm... maybe something's wrong with his phone? or he's written a lot of entries by hand and will post them all up later? i don't know...=T

EDIT: kavya told me that toma updated his jweb, apologizing for not posting anything lately. he says it's because he was filming and says he feels very alone/isolated right now (something like that). =T (thanks to himawariyusuke for the translation!)

wow...filming must be really intense, that he didn't have time to post anything!! O___o poor toma. i guess it's just that all he does these days is study his script and film, and he has no time for anything else or meeting his friends or family, so he must be tired and feeling lonely. -__-

go to the link above to read the message! he thanked toma, kazama, and yamashita for congratulating him on his group's debut earlier this year.

i was wondering where he met and talked to toma cuz toma rarely gets a chance to meet his kouhai's, and enshinge told me: "Toma said somewhere that he was out for food/drinking with some friends, he just happened to run into Kawai and hugged and congratulated him :)"

awwwww. toma is a really great senpai!! ~__~

6~ some random toma-related polls at Toma's Room. hehe.

(did u notice i finally changed my profile pic

here after, like 2 yrs now? hehehe...~_~)

hi everyone! ~_~

i made it!!! it's still june. xD it's june 28. thanks to kavya for pointing out that this is post #499 for me, and for toma's blog, his next post will be #499, too! heehee. it would be really awesome if i could update this post the same day that he does. we'll both post our 499th post on the same day! *__* hehehe.

well, i made a new banner!! yey!! it's an infinity pool near the sea. wish i could be there right now. xDD thank goodness i'm in california, where our summers are not that hot, but it's been getting warmer and i've started to get bug bites. noooooo. T__T also, another summer thing that's happening soon is the 4th of july! so fast... that's why i'm using some blue text in this post, so that it will be red, white, and blue in some parts. xD

oh, i recently bought a simple birthday card that i might use for toma's birthday. i know it's early, but somehow, i always remember around june or july, to look for a nice bday card for him. xD cuz i usually send it around mid-september so it'll get to him in time for his birthday. ~__~

by the way, i posted random pics at my LJ and talked about my experience at an anime convention!! v(^_^)v my 1st time ever going!!

SO, THE BIG NEWS THIS MONTH WAS THAT TOMA'S A KILLER (but still kind of a hero?) IN HIS NEW MOVIE!!!!!! O___O WHOAAAAA!!!!

at first, i was really freaked out, because i hate violent movies about killers. T__T but after i read the news about the movie, it doesn't seem so bad. since his character is killing bad guys, and toma trained in martial arts for 6 months (since the start of this year) to prepare for the fighting scenes!!! *__* and finally, an intelligent character for toma! he's supposed to be an emotionless killer, but at least he's also gorgeous and extremely intelligent. hehe. but from the pics and video clip they released, toma's hair and clothes looks so similar to how he looked in ningen shikkaku!! =/ i don't want him to have that same look again...hopefully that was just for that 1 scene and he'll look better in the movie.

seems like most toma fans would loveeeee to see toma as the bad guy!! lol. and toma himself said in an interview a few years ago, that he wants to try an assasin role some time, so his dream came true (kind of...well, pretty close anyway)!! xD hehe. i'm really happy he got a really dark bad guy role this time, and it's an action movie, too! we get to see a different side of toma! i just hope he's careful during the fighting scenes and doesn't get injured. also, i hope toma's dark side isn't too scary. xD

(i wrote a long post about my thoughts about this new movie, here: http://kate-firefly.livejournal.com/37087.html)

filming only started june 7. not sure how long it will take, but i really hope toma gets a new drama where he's the lead actor before this year ends!!! pretty pretty pleaseeeeeee!!! it's been forever (3 years since majo saiban!)!!! -__-

......................... toma's messages ♥

(i'll just talk about some of the interesting things toma said in his jweb here, but remember if you want to read all his messages, go to http://tfgirls-team.livejournal.com to read them! ~_~)

on the same day that they announced toma was starring in the Nou Otoko movie, toma also announced it at his blog. ~__~ he said he did a lot of things (the martial arts training?) to get ready for this role and please support him. (Toma's Room Vol. 494. june 12. go here to read the full message: http://himawariyusuke.livejournal.com/26917.html)

toma talked about how it was raining during a photoshoot... (he mentioned raindrops)

he said he likes location filming (for the movie i guess). he talked about how he wrote the kanji for "shadow" wrong in his previous message (adding an extra stroke), and so his "shadow" is especially dark. xD

meeting new people...the movie's director, staff, and actors, made toma happy. but he also has to meet the new him (i guess he means his character, "Nou Otoko").

[for some reason, toma has been writing his entries by hand, on a notepad and taking a picture of it instead of typing it on his phone. ~__~ he has nice~ handwriting! maybe because it's faster that way? he must be really busy with the filming + training...!! or maybe he just likes writing things down...hmm. i like jotting little notes down on paper rather than typing it too. my brother sometimes says i'm so "old school" (old-fashioned) when i use a pen/pencil to write something down. lol!]

on june 22 (Vol. 498), toma reminded everyone to watch Genji Monogatari because it's been released. he mentioned that he's writing the message as he's on a vehicle! (well, he said he was moving, so i guess he means he's on the subway. i don't think he'd walk and write at the same time? xD)

1~ news about toma's new movie, Nou Otoko (Brain Man):

---Ikuta Toma to play a serial killer in ‘Nou Otoko’

by HPriest on June 12, 2012 at 1:19 am

On June 12th, it was announced that actor Ikuta Toma will be starring in Takimoto Tomoyuki’s new movie ‘Nou Otoko‘.

Based on an award-winning novel by Shudo Urio, Ikuta will play a mysterious man who commits countless murders in the name of justice. People call him ‘Nou Otoko’ (‘Brain Man’) and an ‘expressionless murder machine’ for he possesses intelligence and outstanding memory, yet never seems to show any emotions. Throughout this violent and mysterious story, the viewers will slowly be able to unravel the mystery that he is.

This role will mark the first dark hero in Ikuta’s career. He commented, “It’s a new challenge for me and I want to go all out for this movie.”

As there will also be a lot of action scenes, Ikuta prepared himself by practicing kalis (a Filipino sword) and Jeet Kune Do for almost half a year since January, proving that his ambitions are more than just nice sounding statements in news articles.

He added, “One of the highlights of the movie are the impressive and very realistic action scenes.”

Actress Matsuyuki Yasuko will play a neurosurgeon who wants to examine the protagonist and find out the truth behind the incredible abilities of ‘Nou Otoko’, while actor Eguchi Yosuke will play a role of a detective who drives ‘Nou Otoko’ into a corner while chasing a malicious serial bomber.

Matsuyuki commented, “I want to perform many intense dialogues and give delicate psychological descriptions.”

Eguchi added, “It certainly feels like the birth of a new kind of Japanese action movie.”

‘Nou Otoko’ is scheduled for release in February of next year.

(note: a kalis is a "a type of double-edged Filipino sword, often with a "wavy" section". they are "comparable to the Japanese katana". credit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalis. THERE ARE SO MANY TOMA FANS IN THE PHILIPPINES. I BET THEY'RE REALLY HAPPY TOMA HAS BEEN TRAINING WITH THIS FILIPINO SWORD! :D )

(note: jeet kune do is "a hybrid martial arts system and life philosophy founded by martial artist Bruce Lee with direct, non classical and straightforward movements". credit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeet_Kune_Do)

---more news about the movie:

"a story about a good-looking yet deadly murderer"

"While the actor has lost weight after taking on Kali, Shooto, and Jeet Kune Do martial arts training, he has gained a lot more muscle."

"In preparation for the role's action scenes, Ikuta started learning various martial arts since six months ago at the request of the movie's director. In addition, the climax scene when Suzuki Ichiro faces off with a serial terror bomber will be filmed at a former hospital in Toyama Prefecture which was due to be demolished instead of relying on CG. Filming began in early June."

so it turns out that this killer is supposed to be really handsome!! xD i also read somewhere that he is supposed to have a "perfect body" too. toma's playing a handsome character again. xD of course it's not his fault that he's so handsome and ppl keep casting him for good-looking characters. ^_~ but i just hope that sometime, toma will get a role where the character description does not include something like "incredibly handsome", you know? xDDD of course, i don't want them to make him ugly, but...something in between would be nice. haha... i just
want people to see that he's more than a pretty face, but i guess most people know that by now, anyway.

I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MORE MUSCULAR TOMA + TOMA FIGHTING SCENES!! :D :D :D i only remember he had some simple fighting scenes in his old butai's, and i already thought that he looked so cool!! xD

BUT they're blowing up a REAL building??? o____O seriously??? it sounds like it'll be a really cool explosion scene, but i can't help worrying about toma's safety. =T oh, the movie will be released in february!! MY BIRTHDAY MONTH!! yey!! ~__~

---- you can watch a really short video clip of some scenes from the movie, where toma is looking creepy and emotionless, here:

3~ you can DL and watch the genji movie already!! ^__^

seems like the movie was available for renting since june 15 (the dvd is on sale june 22), so a lot of people already ripped it and maybe a lot of toma fans (at least the chinese fans, anyway) already watched the movie before june 22! lol. i'll wait for the english subs for now, but if you want to watch the movie right away, go to the links below to get it. both versions below have chinese and japanese hardsubs. :D

(it was just a skit, but lucky yuriko!! she got to be toma's "girlfriend" again. xD it was funny how they kept saying she's ugly though. lol!! toma looked so cool when he 1st appeared and was like "don't say my girlfriend is ugly." *__* kyaaaaa!!)

4~ some more toma tv appearances have been subbed (in english)! =)

go to the links below to get them:

5~ jun said that toma's eyes have "power" in a magazine interview!!

junma shippers must have been happy about this!! =P and i completely agree with jun. toma has such beautiful eyes and sometimes i have trouble looking directly at his picture, if he has an intense gaze for that pic. it feels like he is really looking at me and i have to look away! xD

read the whole translation of jun talking about eyes that have power and take a look at the scan of that interview question here: http://tfgirls-team.livejournal.com/4434.html#cutid1

not much to talk about since BRI promotion is over. =/ but there was a special stage greeting...new VITZ CM....and A RARE NAKATSU SCENE YOU HAVE TO WATCH!! ^_^

hi everyone! ~_~

so...not much has happened in May.

but i still took so long to get this post up.

sorry! it's already june 7 today. =T

hmm...let's get me-related stuff over with first. xD

here are some things i posted about at my LJ,

some of which are toma-related...

(i found these pretty toma and gakky pics quick and the lighting is similar and their pics really match, but yamashita!! it's so hard to find a nice smiling pic of him and finally i just gave up and used this pic. lol.)

i finally finished my tomapi/togakky fanfic recently!!! it's been around 5 months since i started writing it and it made me kind of sad. =( but i'm so glad i finally finished it, and i can always continue it some other time. you can read the whole thing by going here:
http://kate-firefly.livejournal.com/tag/fanfic.

random pics: forest, toma on Fineboys, takoyaki, clouds, rainbow!

and 4 the longest time, i didn't finish the 2 posts i linked to since my last post, but i finally finished and posted pics, so please take a look!! xD pink-chan and this kitty is so cute!! ^_^

.......................... toma's messages ♥

(i'll just talk about some of the interesting things toma said in his jweb here, but remember if you want to read all his messages, go to http://tfgirls-team.livejournal.com to read them! ~_~)

toma went to watch a special kabuki performance that his friend (since high school) was in, and it lasted 8 hours long!! (thanks to himawariyusuke for translating vol. 490, from april 25.) also, toma said he's sorry he is too busy to reply to letters (his jweb subscribers, i think) because he's been reading a script.(april 28 entry) [NEW ROLE FOR TOMA??!! I HOPE IT'S A LEADING ROLE IN A SUMMER DRAMA!!!!!!!! *___*]

also, toma talked about celebrating bokura ga ita getting over 3 million viewers by taking part in a "butai aisatsu" (giving thanks). [this was the special stage greeting i read about at toma's page at the official johnnys website, it was on may 11. xD] he was nervous but really happy that so many people like this movie! and he said something about warmer weather making people happier and also said everyone, take care. [hehe.xD sometimes toma says such random things.] (from vol.492, may 12)

and toma went to Mr. Children's concert too! he was really hyper to be there, especially when the bokura ga ita themesong was played! xD you can read his whole message here, thanks to himawariyusuke for translating it! http://himawariyusuke.livejournal.com/26612.html

............................ top 10 8 toma things that happened during May (or start of June)♥

(credit: tomafanindia)

1~ toma, yuriko, (and i think the director of the movie) had a special stage greeting to celebrate the movie's success!! ^___^ i'm glad bokura ga ita did so well!! it must be toma's most successful movie ever!!! *___* congratulations, toma, yuriko, and everyone on the BRI team!! cuz hanamizuki did really well, but i don't remember him and gakky doing an "aisatsu" (special stage greeting to thank people for seeing the movie?), so probably they didn't reach 3 million viewers. oh, and i think it's nice that they count the number of people that go watch instead of how much money they made from the movie. it's a nice change from in the usa, where all you ever hear about is how much money a movie took in.

2~ there's a new toma VITZ CM!! =)

you can DL the new toma vitz CM here: http://mt-memo.livejournal.com/22430.html. or just watch the 15 second version here: http://untestsubject.tumblr.com/post/23174670723. remember you can also DL other recent (BRI promotional stuff) toma video clips at the mt-memo! =D

3~ Genji Monogatari and Bokura ga Ita soundtracks!

even if we can't watch the movies yet, it's nice to be able to listen to their music! you can get the ost's here, thanks to kavya! http://toma-room.livejournal.com/85662.html (actually, the genji movie is being released on DVD june 22, so maybe by the end of this month we can already watch it, if people rip the movie and sub it fast!! ~__~)

and you can listen to one of the tracks from bokura ga ita here:

http://myjhersey17.tumblr.com/post/24355719629/that-really-sad-moment-when-all-you-could-do-is

also, we have a new cool blue/summer layout at toma's room. check it out!! i really like it!! ~__~ and like usual, i made some toma-related polls there. vote on them if u haven't already! xD

4~ some of toma's older tv appearances have been subbed!

you can get Shabekuri 007 here: http://ikuta-toma.livejournal.com/741217.html.

and himitsu no arashi-chan here: http://ikuta-toma.livejournal.com/741722.html

5~ i shared this deleted nakatsu scene from hana kimi here long ago, but i thought i should share it again at toma's room too. v(^_^)v especially since nothing much going on in the toma fandom right now and it's nice to have a "new" video clip of toma! hehe. i'm really happy i can share it with a lot of people this time. so far, i've got 100 downloads for the 3 different quality versions i uploaded and so many people commented on the post!! a lot of people never knew about this extra scene!! get it here: http://toma-room.livejournal.com/87688.html

6~ Poll/ranking: Boys want to look like these boys… and girl
http://aramatheydidnt.livejournal.com/3802568.html

this is a poll asking men who they would want to look like if they could get plastic surgery. xD toma is 18th! also, yamashita is #2, Miura Shohei is #3 (the new nakatsu from last year's hana kimi remake), and sho is #5. such a random poll and the rankings don't make much sense. lol.

7~ a fan noticed that toma and yamashita were wearing the same jacket again. xD
http://arukidasuyo.tumblr.com/post/23397128071/toma-lend-you-his-jacket-xdddddd-lol-what-a-good
a while back, i think kavya noticed they were wearing the same blue suit jacket, and now this. hehe. i love how they still sometimes wear the same clothes. i guess they still do a lot of clothes shopping together! xD toma and pi are using clothes (and toma wore their friendship necklace a lot around last autumn!) to show their love for each other. xD

(random cute toma, yuriko pic from a few months ago...this is my screencap. ^^)
8~ RANDOM TOMA STUFF...

--i made some new toma gif icons! ^_^

--this is from 2007, but in case u haven't seen it. toma and the hana kimi cast all doing a cute exercise for a tv show!!! omg, look at how cute toma is!!!!!♥

--some interesting, kind of still updated toma-related fansites i found. =D

(this is a french fansite! all kinds of toma stuff there...i think mostly magazine scans...)

https://www.facebook.com/IkutaTomaSan

the above sites's FB page. lots of toma pics.

this person posts a lot of interesting toma-related questions for fans. 1 question she might have got from 1 of the toma's room polls. lol.

..................... my 10 favorite toma pictures ♥

toma in barcelona, spain. i already edited it to get a closer view, but have to resize it here. click on it to see the full version! the resized version makes toma look a little weird! =T (credit: sumigomin, tomafanindia)

toma looks so adorable in these pics! :)

i really dunno when this cooking show was, but i saw another pic of toma in this outfit a few months ago, so maybe that was when it was. i wonder why no one has posted a link to watch this show?? or was it from last year? ehhh....but toma looks cute. still a lot of junma shippers out there. hehe. ~__~ (credit: tomapifriendship)

the only new toma pics this month was the black & white +act pics in spain!! =T so i made collages of his old ikita kotoba pics for winkup. also, i posted up these 2 kind of rare toma pics from 2010 at my tumblr:http://tomaroom.tumblr.com/post/24299934393/2-cool-kind-of-rare-toma-pics-from-2010-i. i know i've shared it here in the past, but not the HQ version.

i really miss his winkup column and pics! he has his own column in +act since around july of last year, right? but i've never seen any scans of it. i think mizza said that the chinese toma fan forum troom has it, but u have to be a special member to access it or something like that. sighhhhhh. i really should take a look at a random +ACT issue the next time i'm at the japanese bookstore and see what toma's column looks like!!! o___o

.............................. my favorite toma gifs from tumblr ♥

i hope some other people make gifs of this nakatsu scene and post them up at tumblr...^^

lol. i dunno why toma was so freaked out by the streamers?? but he's so cute ne~! i love girly toma!! :D

"i'm the ideal son!" and the ideal boyfriend!!!! :D

this is from the end of 2010 when he was promoting the kyuukei special drama, i think. kawaii~!

lolllll. well, toma has said that he tends to mess up during important moments, but i'm sure he doesn't have too many fail moments?? xD but it makes me think of when he said the wrong thing during the seaside motel stage greeting, though. instead of saying the movie is definitely interesting, he said it is definitely NOT interesting. xDDDD but he's always so cute when he messes up. ~___~

naoto-kun!!!!! i love his pout & smile!!♥ this must be in episode 1 of maou though, cuz i'm pretty sure toma didn't smile at all for the rest of the drama!! =(

toma and jin when they were little. hehe. still some toma/jin shippers out there. xD
